OTHERS’ Submission to OSCE ODIHR on the abuse of Anti-terror Laws in Turkey

Solidarity With OTHERS has submitted a detailed report to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights highlighting what it describes as the systemic abuse of anti-terrorism laws in Turkey, warning of a “circular abuse” mechanism that enables law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges to reinforce politically motivated prosecutions while bypassing effective oversight.

The submission documents widespread practices including the use of fabricated evidence, criminalisation of routine social and economic activities, and the expansion of repression beyond borders through transnational measures such as misuse of INTERPOL alerts and financial sanctions. It further raises concerns about arbitrary asset freezes, collective punishment based on family ties, and the treatment of minors, alongside the judiciary’s failure to implement binding European human rights rulings.
