Case Summary

Abdullah Güven, an inmate held in Antalya High-Security Prison, has been suffering from severe stomach problems for a long time. The seriously ill prisoner has been experiencing persistent vomiting and episodes of vomiting blood, leading doctors to schedule an endoscopy. However, on the day of the appointment, the prison administration insisted that he be examined while handcuffed. Güven refused this treatment condition, and as a result, the procedure was not carried out, nor was a new appointment scheduled. The 47-year-old, who has been imprisoned since 1997, has not been visited by his family for a long time due to financial difficulties.
