Rooted in struggle, rising in power

Women’s rights are human rights.

But around the world—and right here in Belgium—migrant and refugee women face layered discrimination because of their gender, migration background, religion, or ethnicity. They face barriers to employment, experience gender-based violence, struggle with insecure housing, and often lack access to justice.

At Solidarity With OTHERS, we believe that justice and equality are not optional. We work to make women’s rights visible and accessible, ensuring that women can live with safety, dignity, and the power to shape their own futures.

Women's rights in the EU Explained

The European Union (EU) has always been an attractive destination for regular and irregular migrants and therefore policies have been developed by the EU to manage irregular migration.
