Case Summary
Özlem Düzenli, held in Edirne L-Type Prison, was arrested on May 10 for depositing money in Bank Asya and allegedly using ByLock.² She is imprisoned with her 7-month-old baby, Murat Efe, who became seriously ill in prison but was neither transferred to the hospital nor provided with adequate medical care. The Court of Cassation overturned Düzenli’s conviction on April 9, 2025, citing lack of due process and insufficient examination of the case, but nevertheless ruled for her continued detention.³ In the hearing following the appeal decision, the Afyon 2nd High Criminal Court refused to release Düzenli, who has been imprisoned with her infant for two months. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 16.⁴
