Prisoners held in Aksaray T-Type Closed Prison are facing serious hygiene and health problems. According to allegations, there have been ongoing water cuts in the prison for an extended period, preventing inmates from meeting their basic hygiene needs. It is reported that access to showers is limited, water is supplied only during certain hours, or is at times completely cut off. In addition to restricted access to water, a lice infestation has reportedly occurred in the prison, spreading rapidly through the wards. Due to the lack of adequate hygiene conditions, prisoners’ health is said to be at risk, and necessary measures have allegedly not been taken. It is stated that the current conditions in the prison pose serious concerns both in terms of physical health and the right to live in conditions consistent with human dignity, and authorities are being called upon to take the necessary measures.
