İlyas Bulut, held in Kırşehir Prison, has attempted suicide twice during his incarceration and continues to be held in a single-person cell. Despite concerns regarding his physical and psychological condition, no changes have been made to his current detention conditions. His case has been brought to the agenda of the Parliament. It was reported that he is not in a stable mental condition, that he occasionally undresses completely in his single cell, that his condition is progressively worsening, and that he requires close supervision and care. Bulut reportedly attempted suicide in 2021 and 2023, and these incidents were also reflected in reports by the Council of Forensic Medicine (ATK); however, the ATK still issued an opinion stating that he could remain in prison. In this context, it was recalled that Rojhat Babat, who had similar psychological issues, lost his life, and it was stated that the same level of risk for İlyas Bulut cannot be disregarded. It was emphasized that authorities must take preventive measures before risk indicators emerge, and that any delayed intervention in such cases may lead to irreversible consequences. For this reason, it is expected that İlyas Bulut will be placed under protection and that appropriate health and supervision conditions will be ensured.
