İbrahim Tekin, a sick prisoner held in Buca Prison, was not released after the evaluation of the Prison Administration and Observation Board because he refused to accept what has been described as a “remorse imposition.” The prisoner, who has been in prison for 31 years, suffers from several illnesses including goiter, prostate problems, shortness of breath, and hernia. Although he completed the required term of his sentence in May 2025, the board decided to postpone his release for 11 months following its assessment. The 72-year-old ill prisoner continues to be held in prison. His wife has called for his immediate release, drawing attention to his age and deteriorating health condition.
