Case Summary
Fatma Aşık, a sewing and embroidery teacher who was dismissed from public service under a decree-law, was arrested and sent to Edirne Prison. Aşık had been subject to an arrest warrant since 5 October 2016. She had been newly appointed as a sewing and embroidery teacher at the Nevşehir Public Education Center in July 2016 but was dismissed from public service under Decree-Law No. 672, issued on 1 September 2016, before she could begin her duties.
