Case Summary
Deniz Gündoğdu was sent to Edirne L-Type Prison together with her 16-month-old daughter, Asude. Gündoğdu had previously been tried on allegations of membership in the Gülen movement and was sentenced to 6 years and 3 months in prison. In June, the Court of Cassation overturned her sentence, but on July 2 a detention order was issued against her. She is now being held in prison with her baby. Because of the poor quality of prison meals, she requested additional baby food and formula for her daughter, but these needs were not met.2
