İbrahim Halil Al, who has soft tissue cancer, was arrested and sent to prison five months ago. Following his admission to prison, his medical treatment and examinations were not carried out regularly. A CT scan report prepared after a delay found that his disease had progressed, and a PET scan was requested. Al’s wife stated that treatment had not been initiated and that the health board reports requested months ago had not been finalized. She submitted an application to CİMER requesting that her husband be transferred to Şanlıurfa, where his family also lives. It was stated that the prisoner has been unable to access his right to healthcare, while it remains unknown how many months it will take for the requested PET scan to be carried out. Al had undergone cancer surgery at Dicle University 1.5 years ago. Following the Supreme Court of Appeals’ upholding of his 8-year-and-9-month prison sentence, he was arrested on 19 March 2026.
